Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Last weekend we made the trip to Wausau
for Hannah and Bobby's wedding.
It was such a great weekend!!!!
The wedding was absolutely beautiful and Hannah looked AMAZING!!
Her and Bobby were both so happy and I couldn't be
any more excited for the two of them.

Sarah took about 700 pictures
(no, that is not an exaggeration)
but here are just a few to give you a glimpse of our weekend.

We started with a little pampering on Friday morning,

Then headed right into the rehearsal.

We woke up early Saturday morning and headed to the salon
to beautify ourselves.

And it seemed to do the trick, because I think we
are one good looking bridal party.

Especially the bride to be.  :)

The ceremony was held at the top of Granite Peak
and it was breath taking!

The pictures are going to be awesome with such a beautiful backdrop.
I can't wait to see them!!

Even Owen decided to be cooperative and smile for the pictures.

Congratulations Hannah and Bobby!!!!
You guys have the cutest little family.

Thank you for letting us share your special day with you.
Wishing you years of love, laughs, and happiness!!

Monkey Business

Now that Owen is a little more mobile,
it's become quite difficult to take his monthly Monkey photo.
All he seems to want to do is wrestle with the monkey.

But after a few takes we finally got one picture that we can use.

Now we just need to work on posing and smiling.
Maybe next month.

Pool Party

Yes it's sad, but true.
The summer is very quickly coming to an end.
Our days at the pool are almost over.  :(

So we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather today
and enjoy an afternoon of fun in the sun.

We tried out our new pool floater and Owen LOVED it.
He leaned back, kicked his little legs,
and had so much fun just floating around the pool.

We also ran into Owen's cousins Ava and Emma at the pool.
They loved pushing Owen around the baby pool.

Peek a Boo Emma!  We see you.  :)

And while the mommies had their favorite pool snacks,
Owen had his first attempt at Mum Mums.

He wasn't quite sure what to think of them,

But for now it is a great way to distract him for about 10 minutes.  :)

Hopefully we can get at least one more day at the pool in before it closes.
It's been so much fun relaxing at the pool and hanging out with friends.
And Owen does so good in the water that it's fun to watch
him explore and relax in the pool too.

Munchkin Maestro

I've heard so many great things about introducing music
to babies early on, so I decided to enroll Owen
in a class for the fall.

There are two in Oak Park that I want to choose between,
so we are doing a trial class with both.

Today was the first one:
Munchkin Maestros with Ms. Clara

We sang songs,
(well mostly she sang songs since I don't quite know them yet)
Kept the beat on our knees,
played with colorful scarves, tiny maracas, little drumsticks, and a triangle.

Owen was somewhat amused by all of that,
but seemed to get tired of sitting up so long.  So when she brought
out the parachute and had us lay all of the babies down underneath it,
he was loving it.

We passed the parachute to each other to make it twirl above their heads.
He was mesmerized.

Without a doubt, his favorite part of the class.

We try out the second class on Monday, choose the one we like best,
and then Owen will officially be enrolled in his very first Mommy and Me class.
I'm not going to lie....I'm pretty excited.

Rolling Machine

Here is proof that Owen knows how to roll from his back to front...
he just chooses not to stay there.

I swear this kid might just skip crawling
and move right to walking.

Busy Bee

It's been awhile since my last post,
so I thought I would take a minute to bring everyone up to speed.

Over the past week Owen and I have been busy.
Here is a little breakdown of our week.

We've been spending our time....

- Doing Lots of Jumping

He gets going so much that he jumps in the air
and kicks both feet out  to the sides so he actually gets air.
It's pretty hilarious to watch.

- Practicing our rolling in the hopes that he'll eventually
start to become more fond of his tummy.

Though here it looks like he is pretty content on his back.

- Taking our big boy stroller seat for a test drive,
 "Hello from my new stroller"

- Trying some more new foods.

This week we tried pears and sweet potatoes
and he loved them both.
A very different response from the bananas and avocados.

- And practicing drinking out of our new sippy cup.

We don't always make it in our mouth,

but practice makes perfect.  :)

All that fun during the day can really wear a little guy out.

When you fall asleep with a toy in your mouth
it's clear you've had quite a fun day.

Success!

Guess who ate their entire bowl of Avocado today????

THIS GUY!!!!

Ryan is convinced he is saying...."AAAAAAAAAAvocado!"

 What started out as gagging,
has turned into cute little hums between bites.

We've come a long way from our very first avocado encounter.

Avocad-NO!

Since bananas weren't making that big of an impression,
we decided to give avocados a try last night.

The verdict is out...

Avocados are ranked even lower than bananas.
At least with bananas he would eat a few spoonfuls!
He wasn't in love with them by any means, but he tolerated them.

I put a spoonful of avocado in his mouth and he immediately gags.
Then he tries to hide his face behind the bib.
No, I am not kidding!

Or he holds the bite in his mouth and as soon as I take the spoon away,
he spits it right back out.
Again, not kidding.  This kid is smart!

We'll keep trying and hopefully he will develop a taste for them.
Believe it or not Owen, avocados are really good for you,
and some day you will LOVE them!!
