Alex's Entourage

After we got back from the fair, my mom and I decided to go watch Alex play in the
Channel 7 golf tournament while the boys napped.  We had so much fun.  Alex had quite the entourage.  He had 3 golf carts following him and even a few friends who walked along for a few holes.  We must have brought him good luck because he did great.  Way to go Al!

Lincoln County Fair

When we were thinking of things to do while we were in Wausau, my mom suggested taking
the boys to the fair.  She thought it would be fun for them to see all the animals.  Little did I
know just how much fun they would have.  They absolutely LOVED it!  We walked through
various barns and saw horses, pigs, goats, cows, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens, and roosters.  Fun fact, we found out it was Ryan's first time ever petting a horse...EVER!!

They also had a small petting zoo which was perfect for the kids.

Without a doubt, the highlight was being able to hold the baby bunnies.  They were so soft
and cuddly.  If they weren't such a pain to take care of, I'd love to have one for the boys.  ;)

Once we had a chance to see all of the animals, we headed out to play some games.  Owen
was especially fond of a dart shooting game.  After each thing we did, he asked to go back
to play the dart game.  He has now requested one of these dart guns for his birthday.

And the fair experience wouldn't be complete without a few rides.

I think it's safe to say Owen and Joe's first trip to the fair was a huge success...Yay!!!!

Choo Choo Ride

After a fun trip to the splash pad, what better way to end our visit to Marathon Park
than with a ride on the train, or choo choo as Joe calls it.

Marathon Park Splash Pad

Our water fun in Wausau continued with an afternoon at the splash pad with Grandpa and
Grandma Lombardo.  Ellie came along for the ride too.  What a perfect way to cool down on
a super hot day.  Joe preferred to stay on the outskirts of the water, but he eventually
warmed up to it.  I picked him up and ran through a few sprinklers with him.  That
seemed to do the trick.  ;)  Owen on the other hand wants nothing more than to try
everything out and get as soaked as he possibly can. So. Much. Fun!

Wausau CC

The boys absolutely LOVE the water, so it is no surprise that we started our weekend in WI
with a little water fun.  First stop was the Country Club with Grandpa Jim.  We had such a great time!  Owen jumped off the diving board into my arms at least 20 times, I impressed
him with my backflip skills off the board (yep, still got it), and I dunked Joe for the first time under the water.  Not a single tear, I could hardly believe it.  I dunked him multiple times and he was OK with it.  I wouldn't say it was his favorite thing, but he didn't put up a fuss.  He just came up with a really puzzled look on his face, wiped off all the water, and went about his business.  It was nearly impossible to get Owen out of the water the entire time we were there, but I managed to get both boys to sit still for a total of 5 seconds to take a picture.

Thanks for a great day at the pool Grandpa Jim!!

The Ring Shark

Ryan's cousin Danny asked Owen to be the ring bearer in his wedding.  I was so excited
because I knew Owen was going to be the cutest little ring bearer ever!  In the days leading
up to the wedding I talked Owen through his duties.  I let him know he was the ring bearer.
He quickly and sternly told me he did not want to be a bear.  He wanted to be a shark.
So let me present you with the cutest little ring shark I've ever seen.

He did a great job!  We were a little nervous because at the rehearsal he was timid with all
of the unfamiliar faces.  He didn't want to hold the pillow or walk down the aisle.  But when
the time came for him to go on the big day, he did his job like a champ.  He walked down the
aisle with Ruby like he was supposed to, but then followed her to the bridesmaids' side
instead of going towards the groomsmen.  Ryan tried to call him over and then started
walking behind the chairs towards the girls side to get him.  When Owen saw him he came
running back down the center aisle towards him yelling, "Daddy, I did it!"
Everyone got a good laugh, and that's what ring sharks are for, right?

Here are some pictures of the cutest little ring shark and flower girl.

And here are my other two handsome dates for the evening.

It was two late nights for Joe, so he passed out before dinner was even served.

My theory is he was thinking ahead and conserving energy for the best part of the wedding,
the dance!  He and Owen had a blast.  Joe walked around exploring everything and Owen
was a dancing machine!  Owen's dance move of choice was the bunny hop, accompanied
by a few spontaneous cartwheels here and there.  And although I don't like coming in
second, he admitted his favorite dance partner of the night was Ryan's cousin Laura.

In case you were wondering what the bunny hop looks like, here's some footage...

What a great night!!  Congrats Danny and Jessica!!
