Christmas Begins....

This year we were in Chicago for Christmas.  With it falling on a Wednesday it
worked out perfectly to drive to WI to visit with my family too.  Christmas Eve
started off what was basically a week long Christmas for Ryan and I.

We went to Uncle Kevin's house around dinner time and stayed till after midnight.  For someone like me who normally goes to bed around 10:00 PM this was a little bit of a stretch,
but we were having so much fun that it was hard to leave any earlier.  I'm surprised we didn't
catch a glimpse of Santa flying overhead on our way home.  ;)

Owen had an absolute blast.  He and Ruby ran laps around the house and just giggled at
each other the whole time.  A lot of Ryan's Aunts and Uncles hadn't seen Owen in awhile,
so it was nice for them to spend some time with him.  Since he recently started climbing out
of the pack n play we had no idea how bedtime was going to work.  But after he knocked
over a second glass of Diet Coke and threw a piece of chocolate cake to the floor, we
figured it was worth a shot to attempt to put him to bed.  Looks like all that running around
did the trick as he fell right asleep and Ryan and I got to relax for the rest of the evening.

Ryan's uncles and aunts were very good to the boys for Christmas.  Since Owen was
asleep by the time we opened gifts on Christmas Eve we took them home still wrapped
and added them beneath the Christmas tree.  This was our first time being home for
Christmas with Owen, so we stayed up past 2:00 AM making sure we had everything

wrapped, under the tree, and ready to go for the morning.  Mission accomplished!
