Owen's First Science Lesson

The high for today is -10 degrees.  Cold enough that Ryan's boss told him to work
from home.  And cold enough that there is no chance any of us are leaving the house.

I did manage to steal Ryan away from his work for a few minutes however to help
put on a little science show for Owen.  We set Owen up with a snack by the window
and let him watch the magic.

First Experiment - Throwing boiling water into the air

Second Experiment - Blowing bubbles to watch them freeze
Unfortunately it was pretty windy so we didn't get any pics of the bubbles standing still

It's hard to see, but in this one the bubble on the left is actually cracked and
split open.  It reminds me of how glass looks when it is shattered.

Our eager little student was very impressed.  :)

I guess there are always ways to keep busy, even when it is 12 degrees below
zero outside, with a wind chill of -38.  Brrr!
