Selfie Time!!

Owen's Spring Tea

Today Owen and his class had their Spring Tea as a way of thanking the parents.  It was so
adorable.  Normally it would be outside on the grass, but since it was a little chilly it was held
in the church parlor.  All the parents came and set up their picnic blankets on the floor.  Then
when it was time for the tea to start, the kids marched in.  Owen looked so big and grown up
walking through the door.  It's amazing how much he has grown not only physically but
emotionally in the last 8 months.

He ran over to Ryan, Joe and I and gave us all big hugs.  Then he walked over to the table
they had set up to grab the box of snacks he had put together for us.  Each student had
their own little white box decorated with stickers and labeled with their name.  He was so
excited to bring it over to us and open it to show us what was inside: oranges, string cheese,
crackers, cookie bars that Owen and his class made, and a cute flowered napkin.

Next Owen went up to pour us something to drink.  Our choices: iced tea, or lemonade
that the kids had squeezed lemons and limes to make themselves.

The last big surprise was a small decorated teacup.  In it was a flower they planted and
a paper flower they made with their picture on it.  It was really sweet.

The kids worked so hard getting everything ready and you could tell they were so proud
of themselves.  Thanks for the special morning Owen!  We love you!!

Happy 50th Anniversary Pilgrim!!

When Owen started preschool at the beginning of the year I decided I wanted to be involved
and join the parent board.  My official position, Special Events Co-chair.  I figured it was a
great way for me to meet some new people, become familiar with the school, and fulfill
my nosiness of knowing what was going on behind the scenes.

What I didn't realize is the work that lay ahead of my co-chair and I with the planning of our
50th Anniversary gala celebration.  The party was in late April and we started planning all
the way back in October.  Looking at venues, caterers, sending out letters to all of the
businesses in the community asking for donations, filling out online forms for donations,
finding a way to get people excited and get them to attend, sending out save the dates and
invitations, organizing and planning the silent auction from the donations we received..the
list is endless.  It was the equivalent of planning a wedding and a silent auction of about
$9,000 worth of items at the same time.

While my tired, pregnant self was a bit worn out at times, my type A, organizing self loved it!
I love staying home with the boys, but it made me realize how much I love feeling busy with
things other than schedules, play dates, nap times, etc.  I enjoyed the busy work and felt a
huge sense of accomplishment when the day finally came and we got to see the product of
our months of hard work.  It was an amazing night and everyone had a blast!
I couldn't be any happier with how things turned out.

The photo booth was by far one of the highlights of the evening.  So much fun!!

Happy 50th Anniversary Pilgrim!!  We "picked" a winner of a school.

Coffee Dates

Ryan went into work a little later this morning, so after we dropped Owen off at school
I got to have coffee with two of my all-time favorite coffee dates.

Saturday Mornings in Wausau

When we're in Wausau, there is a 99.9% chance that come Saturday morning you will find
us eating breakfast at Tri City, aka "The Pancake Restaurant."

s

We've been doing it for years and years now.  To be honest, I couldn't even tell you when it
all started.  My favorite part is as the years have passed, we've added more and more kids
to the table and we now take up nearly the entire front wall of the restaurant.
What a great way to start our morning.  Good food, better company!

American Ninja Warrior in Training

It was BEAUTIFUL outside today so we decided to head down to the 606 to walk and then ended up at the park.  Owen wasted no time showing Ryan how he had mastered the monkey bars.  I have to say I am pretty impressed myself.

I love that Spring is finally here and we can get out and enjoy the amazing weather!!  I think it's pretty safe to say the boys are happy about it too.
