Owen's Spring Tea

Today Owen and his class had their Spring Tea as a way of thanking the parents.  It was so
adorable.  Normally it would be outside on the grass, but since it was a little chilly it was held
in the church parlor.  All the parents came and set up their picnic blankets on the floor.  Then
when it was time for the tea to start, the kids marched in.  Owen looked so big and grown up
walking through the door.  It's amazing how much he has grown not only physically but
emotionally in the last 8 months.

He ran over to Ryan, Joe and I and gave us all big hugs.  Then he walked over to the table
they had set up to grab the box of snacks he had put together for us.  Each student had
their own little white box decorated with stickers and labeled with their name.  He was so
excited to bring it over to us and open it to show us what was inside: oranges, string cheese,
crackers, cookie bars that Owen and his class made, and a cute flowered napkin.

Next Owen went up to pour us something to drink.  Our choices: iced tea, or lemonade
that the kids had squeezed lemons and limes to make themselves.

The last big surprise was a small decorated teacup.  In it was a flower they planted and
a paper flower they made with their picture on it.  It was really sweet.

The kids worked so hard getting everything ready and you could tell they were so proud
of themselves.  Thanks for the special morning Owen!  We love you!!
