I've heard a lot about Matthiessen state park and how fun it is to go hike on the trails. I've
been wanting to check it out, so I got together with a group of friends and we decided to
make the trek. It takes about 1.5-2 hours to get there so it's a commitment. When we woke
up this morning the forecast called for some rain, but we were willing to take our chances
and see if it cleared up. Rachel and I packed our kids in her minivan and started the drive.
We got about an hour into the drive and the rain wasn't letting up. We checked the forecast
and the rain was supposed to continue until at least mid afternoon. So we did what any
truly committed moms would do, we decided to call it, turned around and headed to
Enchanted Castle instead for some indoor fun.
There were some fast rides for those that were braver (and had stronger stomachs),
and a few tamer ones as well.
Sure it wasn't quite what we had set out to do, but I'd say the kids still had an amazing time!
