Brave Little Swimmer

Today marked the end of Owen's third week of swim lessons and I could not be any more proud of how great he is doing.  When he first started he would only stick his mouth under
the water for a few seconds to blow bubbles.  Now all he wants to do is put his full head
under the water, even when he's sitting on the stairs waiting his turn.

It was also a huge struggle to get him to keep his goggles on.  I totally get it.  They're tight
and feel weird if you've never worn them before.  In fact, he didn't wear them once for the
first 2 weeks.  But now he is finally on board and wore them the entire lesson today.  I think
he likes that he can see underwater and it makes him less scared to go under.

He's kicking like a champ, practicing his big arms, and putting his face in to blow bubbles as
he makes his way around the pool with his teacher.  He's still not a huge fan of her letting go
of him and having him try to swim on his own, but he'll get there eventually.  For now his
favorite part is jumping off the diving board at the end of class.  He's so brave and now
jumps straight into the water instead of into his teacher's arms like he used to.
He kicks his way to the surface then makes his way to the side with her help.

What a brave little swimmer.
