The Rehearsal

Tonight was the wedding rehearsal.  Since the wedding is going to be at the Country Club, it
was totally fitting that the rehearsal dinner be a pool party.  While we were getting ready to
go, my Aunt Diane came to visit with Miles for a little bit, thus beginning their love story
(more to come on this later).

My sisters and I are all standing up in the wedding, and my parents were also needed for
the rehearsal, so it left the younger kids a little more unsupervised than normal.  No big
deal, they can fend for themselves, right?  Wrong!  As I stood there at the end of the line of
bridesmaids I watched as Owen and Joe climbed into a golf cart.  They pretended like they
were driving the cart.  No problem.  Wrong again!  All of a sudden Owen hit the gas and the
golf cart started up.  It took me no more than 5 seconds to run from my place in line to that
cart.  From that point on, we decided it was best if we removed all the keys from the carts.
Sounds easy enough, but with a wedding set on a golf course there is an endless supply
of golf carts everywhere you turn (more to come on this later too).

After running through the rehearsal it was time for the pool party.

And no pool party is complete without a diving competition, at the request of the groom.
Even Owen got in on the action.

While the competitive side of me was itching to get out there and show those boys up with
a backflip or perhaps a one and a half, I decided to stay dry and hang with Miles.

I let Sarah get in and represent the ladies of the family.

It was a great night and a really fun way to start the festivities.

Boating with Grandpa

This week we're in Wausau for Alex and Jill's wedding.  We decided to come for the whole
week so we could spend a lot of time with our family and help out when we could.  Today
we had a special day with my dad.  We started the morning going for a boat ride on
Lake Wausau.  The boys LOVED driving the boat (and honking the horn,
and pulling on the throttle, and pushing any button they could find).
The rest of us sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

Then we parked the boat at the country club so we could grab some lunch
and the boys could swim.

I took this next picture about 4 minutes into our car ride home.
I think it's safe to say the boys had a great time with Grandpa. :)

Month at a Glance

This past month has been a bit of a blur.  Since Miles was born we haven't done a whole lot
other than hang out together and adjust to our new life as a family of five.  I got way behind
on my blogging so I figure the best way to catch up is to post a few of my favorite pictures
from the month.  It's no surprise that most of them are of Miles.  I want to make sure I don't
fall into the third child picture slump, so I'm taking them as often as I can.
Plus, he's so cute it's hard not to.  :)

And while Miles is busy sleeping, smiling and snuggling, the boys are enjoying each other's company.  They have so much fun together and I love watching their friendship grow.
