My mom and Larry stayed with us for a week and a half after Miles was born. We love
having them and they are just about the easiest house guests you could ever ask for. Plus
the boys love spending time with them and it gave me more time to focus on Miles,
so it was great all around.
Overall the first week with Miles home was great. There has definitely been some adjusting
by everyone, but obviously that was to be expected. Miles is up every 2 hours or so to eat,
so I am adjusting to fragmented sleep. As for the boys, they are adjusting to life with a new
brother. It's not a problem with them not liking him. They love him like crazy and always
want to be around him. The problem is the influx of energy we're currently experiencing.
Leading up to Miles being born, we were on the go all the time. Swim lessons in the
morning, followed by a trip to the pool, lunch, naps, and possibly a post nap swim as well.
We've been relaxing a lot this first week so the kids have been cooped up in the house. It is
honestly like they are bouncing off the walls. They're not listening as well, to put it mildly,
and acting out more. I truly believe once we can get out and move a little bit
things will get back to normal.
Here are a few pictures from Miles' first week at home.
We couldn't have asked for better weather. For being the start of Summer it was super mild
which gave us lots of opportunities to hang out in the yard.
We also managed to get ourselves out to run a few errands. Miles wasn't the biggest fan of
the car at first. He would cry so hard that he would hold his breath. We had to keep looking
back to make sure he was still breathing. Hopefully the disdain for the car is short lived.
At least he looks cute in his carseat. SO tiny!!
I did my best to let go of Miles long enough to give Grandma and Grandpa
some quality snuggles. ;)
But when Miles wasn't available, Owen was happy to fill in.
Thanks for taking such great care of us Grandma and Grandpa!! We love you and were so
glad you got to come and meet the newest member of our family!!
