The boys LOVE playing outside in the snow, especially Owen. The snow has been pretty
minimal in Oak Park this winter, so while we were in Wausau we took advantage of the
snow they had. The boys have never been sledding before, so when Grandma suggested it
we jumped at the idea. I knew Owen would love it.

He and Ryan started by going down a few times together. The first time was one of the
funniest. They walked up the hill, got all situated and Owen had a look of pure excitement
on his face. They waited for their turn, pushed off from the hop of the hill, and Ryan expertly
steered them down the hill using his feet to slow and steer them. What he didn't realize was
his foot was creating a constant stream of snow that was shooting right in Owen's face.
Needless to say, I don't think Owen saw much of his first trip down the hill.

But they quickly got it figured out and had a blast together.
Then once Owen got the hang of it, he went on his own. He was so brave!
We even put Joe on the tube for a short ride by himself,
but he was much more comfortable having someone riding with him.
Truth be told he was probably happiest watching and practicing walking up the hill.
We all had such a great time. I'm sure there will definitely be more sledding in our near
future, assuming we get some snow in Oak Park. Thanks for the great idea Grandma!!
