Morton Arboretum with Miles

It won't be long before Miles will be in full day school and these little outings of ours will be a distant memory.  So I'm trying to soak it up as much as I can.  The Morton Arboretum continues to be one of our favorite places to go.  It's such a fun place with so much to keep him busy!!  Ponds, frogs, things to climb on, suspension bridges, mazes and so much more.

Miles and I both walk away feeling a lot more zen.  :)

Happy Easter!!

Happy Happy Easter!!  Once again, the Easter bunny didn't disappoint.  Candy, toys, t-shirts, bath bombs, squirt guns....all the boys favorites!

After checking out their baskets and coming off their first sugar high of the day, our favorite neighbors did an easter egg hunt for them in their backyard.

Thanks Jerry and Melissa!!  Between Grandma's house, the Easter bunny and this...looks like we'll have enough candy to last us through next Easter.  ;)

Easter Manicure

I saw a super cute manicure idea and since I happened to have all the colors at home, I figured I would give it a try.

Presenting...my Easter nails!  How fun is this??

Ice Skating

One thing we don't too often with the kids is go ice skating.  I remember going to our school ice rink a lot when I was younger.  I don't know if it seems like more of a production here, or if it's too much work to figure out the free-skate schedule, or if maybe we're just too busy and don't get around to it....but whatever the case, we hardly ever go ice skating.

So when our friends asked us to go today, I was super excited to give it a try.  None of the kids have a ton of experience, and they each like to approach it a little differently.

Owen has no fear and takes off at full speed like he's been skating for years.  He's not super steady, but he'll skate at full speed...then crash at full speed when he loses his balance.  He brushes himself off, gets back up and does the same thing over and over again.  By the end, he was actually pretty good.

Miles is just learning, so he took things slow and pushed around one of the ice skate trainers to steady himself.

And Joe is a great mix of the two.  He started with one of the trainers to help steady himself, but eventually found his footing and braved the ice on his own.

I'm really proud of them, and excited we have something new to do with our friends.  Plus, I'm always looking for things to keep us busy in the winter, so this is perfect!

Easter with Grandma

This year we decided to spend Spring Break in Wausau with my mom.  With Easter falling at the end of the week, we were able to celebrate Easter with her as well (even if we had to do it a few days early before we went back home).

Dottie helped us get the Easter baskets ready,

and my mom, Ryan and I hid eggs in the yard so the boys could go for a hunt.

Once they found all the eggs, we went inside so they could find their baskets.

Thank you Grandma for always making Easter so special!  We love you!!  :)
