Happy 4th Birthday Owen!!

Though we've been celebrating all week long, the big day is finally here...Owen's Birthday!

 We started bright and early at breakfast with a candle in his muffin.  Then Daddy went

and got special birthday sprinkle donuts (Owen's favorite!).

The celebration continued at lunch with Grandpa Jim where Owen got to blow out

another birthday candle.

 

 Finally it was time for the main event...Owen's birthday party.

 

 Owen was so happy, loved all his gifts and truly had so much fun all day.  I love being able

to make his days special and it's even better when I have an amazing family to make him

feel extra special too.  We all love you so much and hope you had a great birthday Owen!!

Birthday Surprise

Today we got to Grandma and Grandpa's and they had it all decked out for Owen's birthday.

 Balloons, decorations, pictures of the birthday boy, and his very own birthday tree.

 He walked in and was so excited with all of the balloons.  I hadn't put any up at his party

yesterday and he kept asking me where they were, so this totally made his night.  I know he

felt really special walking in there.  Way to go Grandma!!  You're the best!!

Let the birthday weekend begin!!

Owen's Birthday Week

While it is not yet quite Owen's birthday, we've been doing our fair share of celebrating

all week long.  We started on Saturday with a trip to Rain Forest Cafe.

Then on Sunday we followed it up with a visit to Cold Stone Creamery where Owen got to

make his very own creation....mint ice cream with gummi bears and sprinkles.  I don't see it

making their menu anytime soon, but he really seemed to enjoy it.

Monday Owen and Joe were off from school so we had lunch with Ryan downtown.

Tuesday Owen got to pick out his birthday treat to take to school.  And today not only did we

get to spend the day with him at school, but we had his friend Asher over for lunch and then

the rest of his friends over for a birthday play date complete with "ninja" cupcake decorating.

 

Now tomorrow we're off to Grandma and Grandpa's so the celebration can continue.

Hey, you only turn 4 once.  Might as well live it up.  :)

A Day at School with Owen

Today Joe and I were lucky enough to join Owen for a day at his preschool.  We were

celebrating his birthday in class so they invite the parents in to spend the day, play,

bring a special snack, read a favorite book to the class and make it an overall special day

for their child.  Joe and I were very excited to spend the day with Owen, and I think it's safe

to say Owen enjoyed having us there too.  It was so much fun seeing what his day consists

of and watching him interact with all of his friends.  And Joe jumped right in and made

himself at home playing along with Owen.

 We had such a fun day Owen!  Thank you for letting us spend the day with you.  

We love you and hope you felt extra special today.

Little Gymnast

One of my favorite things to do with Owen when he was younger was to take him to open

gym at the gymnastics center.  He could run around like crazy, burn off tons of energy and

have so much fun.  I've started taking Joe while Owen is at school and it's no surprise

that he loves it just as much.  I mean really, what's not to love??
