Squirt Gun Fight

It's been super hot these past few days, so what better way to cool off than with a
backyard squirt gun fight with Daddy?

My favorite part was Owen's shorts were too big so he was running around
the backyard flashing a partial moon the entire fight.  Pretty hilarious.

What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. :)

Dump Truck Fun

In case Aunt Sarah ever wondered if we were putting the toys she gave us to good use...

My New Centerpiece

Just when I thought things were calm and made comments about how nice it was that the boys could play together on their own, Joe learned how to do this...

I don't even know what made him think this was a good idea, but within seconds he pulls out the chair, climbs up on top of the dining room table and dances around up there.
Hopefully this is a phase he grows out of quickly.

Young Sprout Day Camp

This past week Owen went to day camp at First United.

He was super excited to go.  And who wouldn't be??  The theme for the two week session is
"What Grows On a Farm".  The first day they shucked and painted with corn.  The second
day they cut up and tried a bunch of different vegetables, then made their very own salsa
with them.  The third day they made corn cakes with the corn from their "farm."  And the
fourth day they ate the corn cakes with the salsa.  It was such a cute way to teach them.
I'm looking forward to hearing all about the fun they have next week.

Sprinkler Buddies

My friend Lesa hurt her foot and is limited in how much she can walk and drive.
Basically she is stuck at home for a good portion of 6-8 weeks.  We've been doing our best
to go over there often and keep them company.  It's fun for Owen because not only has he
referred to Lucas as his "best friend", but two of her neighbors have kids the same age as
him so he always has lots of playmates.

The other day when we went over they had the sprinkler out.  Owen had a blast!

I'm so happy the warmer weather is here.  We can finally get outside and play in the water which is one of Owen's favorite things to do.  Joe is not quite as big of a fan of the water.  He loves playing with toys in the water table or bath, but gets startled when water drips onto his head like from a sprinkler.  I have a feeling he'll grow to love it just like Owen does though.  With Summer just beginning, we have plenty of time to warm up to it.

Water Table Shenanigan

It started out innocently enough...Owen and Joe were quietly playing at the water table,
each minding their own business.

Then, without any warning Owen reached over and dumped a cup full of freezing cold water
right over the top of Joe's head.

I explained to Owen that it's not nice to pour water on other people and suggested that if he wanted to pour water on someone, he should pour it on his own head.
Guess he thought that was a good idea.

After the initial shock wore off, they both seemed pretty happy, wet heads and all.
