Owen's New Rollerblades

For Owen's birthday my mom wanted to get him something fun that he could play with outside this summer.  The snow is melted and the weather is finally nice enough for Owen

to take the first ride on his brand new roller blades.  

There is still a lot more practice in our future, but I have a feeling he'll be racing

down the block in no time.  Thanks Grandma!!

Grandma's Books

These are by far some of my favorite gifts I've ever received for the kids.  It's a book where my mom records her voice reading the story.  I love it, and apparently so do they.  :)

Ice skating

This weekend we were in Wausau visiting.  We had our typical meal on the road....

then spent the weekend hanging out.  We were looking for something to do and decided to

give ice skating a try on Saturday night.  It was pretty difficult for Joe and he didn't last too

long, but Owen really liked it and stayed out there for awhile with Ryan and Aiden.

 It's always to try something fun and different, so overall, mission accomplished!

Valentine's Day Pics

One of the photographers I know in town was doing a little event at one of the kid's clothing

stores.  She set up mini photo shoots for Valentine's Day.  We always have pictures of the

kids, but not many with us in it, so we decided to take advantage.

As much as I can remember to, I want to make the holidays special for the boys.  Even the

smaller holidays.  So this morning when they woke up, they came downstairs to a fun

surprise...The world's biggest valentines!!

Then I sent Owen to school with a special lunch.

Heart shaped sandwiches (PB&J of course!)

And in the spirit of making it a special day, Ryan surprised me with the sweetest ring.

The card read..."To Supermom."  Not surprisingly, it's my new favorite accessory!

Silly holiday or not, today is filled with a lot of love!!  :)

Paczki Day

Seeing as how Ryan is 50% Polish and I have Polish somewhere in my genes, it's only right that we celebrate some of the holidays.  Why not start with Paczki ("poonch-key") Day??

I mean, how delicious do these look??

Every year I think to myself that I should go grab some, but this year I finally did it.  I stood in line at Oak Park Bakery and bought 8 of them, various flavors.  My favorite is definitely the

custard, but I'll most likely have to sample them again next year...just to be sure.  ;)

More Snowy Fun

Today Ryan took the boys outside and helped them build a snow fort in the backyard.

We are loving and taking full advantage of all the snow.  :)

Movie Night

One of our favorite things to do is to have "Movie night."  The boys take an early bath, we

set up their sleeping bags (looks like we need one for Miles now), we pop popcorn and all

watch a movie together.  It's a fun way to wind down the night and the boys love it!

And come on...how cute is this??

Snow Day

It doesn't happen often, but we actually had a snow day today...yay!!

Joe wasn't feeling the best and decided to stay in the house with Ryan, 

but Miles, Owen and I took full advantage of all the snow.  :)

Once we got back inside, I enlisted Joe to snuggle and help warm me up.

We took a quick lunch break at Culver's...Joe's favorite.  He's particularly fond of the cheese sauce and dips everything in it now.  

Then Owen and I headed back outside while the littles slept and met up with Asher.

It was such a fun day!  I have a feeling Owen will sleep well tonight!  :)

Benihana

It's official....Owen has a new favorite restaurant.

We wanted to go somewhere fun to celebrate his and Ryan's birthdays and Benihana came
to mind.  We had never taken the boys and thought they might like it.  They didn't just like it,
they LOVED it!!  Joe was a little scared by the volcano flame, but other than that they had a
blast.  And man did I forget how delicious it was!!

I have a feeling this is going to be one of our favorite new celebration spots.  :)

Celebrating the 100th day of School

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school for Owen.  To celebrate, each student is to use 100

items to make or decorate something.  Our item of choice....Legos!
